Amit Joshi PhD, MBA is facilitating learning in the area of Marketing, Strategic Management, Knowledge Management and Business Environment. He has been associated with this department since it’s inception in November 1997. Teaching, for him started almost like a blind date that gradually turned into true love that is evident in his teaching style and methodology.
His experience in the Industry before switching over to academics includes export finance, working capital management, merchant banking, market research and concept selling. He worked in Saudi Arabia, Malaysia and Bahrain. He has been an invited speaker in universities and institutes in India, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Japan and Greece. His student community spans over ten nationalities. Five students have been awarded PhD under his supervision and he has supervised more than hundred Master’s thesis. His publications include research papers in more than twenty national and international journals besides few chapters in books and conference proceedings (national & international). His research interests are interdisciplinary. Tourism has been the focus of his work in many publications.
Tennis is and always has been his passion and he has represented university in the inter university tennis championships. He has participated in a number of open tournaments in India, Malaysia and Saudi Arabia. Dr. Amit is an athlete, a swimmer and loves to play snooker occasionally. He is a member of the University’s official cricket and football teams. He has trekked across the Indian, Nepal and Bhutan Himalayas to destinations above 17,000 feet. Recently he developed a taste for music and is busy playing the drums.
